Jason Urquhart

I grew up in the great state of Michigan but moved to the Emerald Coast in the summer of 1992. I still remember the first time I saw our incredible white sand beaches, thinking it couldn’t be real! I graduated from Choctawhatchee Senior High School in Fort Walton Beach and then obtained my associate’s degree from the University of West Florida in Pensacola, FL. In 1998, I transferred to Florida State University to complete my bachelor’s degree. After graduation, I enlisted in the United States Air Force and served for over 20 years, retiring as a CMSgt. I have lived all over the state of Florida, including S. Miami, St. Petersburg, Melbourne, Tallahassee, Pensacola, and I keep returning to the Emerald Coast. I brought my wife up to the area for the first time in the fall of 2017. She immediately fell in love with the beaches, the shopping, and the restaurants, often commenting that her "heart was so happy here". We visited annually and finally purchased a condominium in the summer of 2020 with the hopes of our daughters building lifetime memories of their "summers on the beach". However, those semi-annual visits just weren't enough, so we finally decided to move here for good. We are now full-time residents of Freeport.

Military service comes with many Permanent Change of Stations (PCSs). My wife and I were involved in twelve real estate transactions in our first eleven years of marriage. We now operate our beachfront condo as a short-term rental that we successfully self-manage, earning three times what we did when we utilized a management company. My personal and professional experience provides me with a unique understanding and insight into the excitement, anxiety, and stress of buying a new home or selling your current one. I know first-hand the trepidation and elation of finding your first investment property, and I am ready to help you successfully navigate that process.
